Who builds it
Joey Chang, a solo builder based in Shanghai. No team, no investors, no support desk — one person who writes the code, the copy and the replies.
That shapes the product more than any roadmap does. ShotQuill does one job instead of ten, because one person can only keep one job genuinely good. It also means the person who answers your email is the person who can fix the bug.

What ShotQuill does
You describe your app in one line. An LLM writes headline copy for six conversion-oriented slide templates — hook, result, feature, pain, trust, CTA — lays them out on device frames, and generates an ASO description and a keyword list alongside. You export 24 full-resolution PNGs covering four iPhone display sizes, ready to upload to App Store Connect.
- Type your app name and what it does. Optionally upload one raw screenshot.
- The AI drafts copy for all six slides, plus an ASO description and keywords.
- Edit any line. Every generated headline is editable — the output is a draft, not a locked result.
- Export. Free exports are unlimited and watermarked; paid plans remove the watermark and add batch ZIP export.
What it deliberately does not do
- Google Play and Android sizes. ShotQuill targets the Apple App Store only.
- iPad. The four exported sizes are all iPhone; an iPad app needs its own 13-inch set.
- A general-purpose design canvas. There are six templates and four sizes, not a blank editor. If you want full layout freedom, a mockup tool serves you better.
- Refunds. The operating entity is outside the US and refunds are not currently supported — the free tier exists so you can evaluate the whole workflow before paying anything.
These are scope decisions, not a roadmap. Listing them here saves you the trial that would have told you the same thing.

Screenshots render in your browser, not on a server. The copy generation is the only step that calls an API.

The product shipped as StorePilot until 7 September 2026, when it was renamed to ShotQuill and moved to shotquill.com. Older write-ups and repository paths still carry the previous name. It is the same product and the same person; see the changelog for the full history.
